OsteoMed L.P. Launches hps™

OsteoMed L.P. launched their innovative and comprehensive hand plating system, hps™, at the recent American Society for Surgery of the Hand conference in San Francisco, CA. hps™ is designed to provide surgeons with multiple solutions in one system. hps™ is the only system to include 5 different types of screws including cannulated headed and headless screws, along with a variety of plates in 4 different sizes. The titanium plates are low profile and anatomically contoured with a polished surface for biocompatibility with bone and soft tissue. OsteoMed’s proprietary angled locking technology allows the screws to lock at the largest ranges of any other hand plates, therefore creating a unique, strong and rigid construct. Instrumentation that will facilitate fracture fixation is also incorporated into the system and includes: plate holding Taks™, a unique plate cutter and enhanced instrumentation that is more ergonomic.

hps™ includes a unique Subcondylar Plate that has a distinctive bend allowing it to fixate condylar fractures without obstructing joint ligaments. “The Subcondylar Plate provides exceptional stability allowing for early range of motion. A low profile design reduces soft tissue irritation and minimizes the need for hardware removal,” Raymond B. Raven III, M.D.

hps™ is the latest addition to OsteoMed’s selection of medical devices that offer the Hand and Upper Extremity surgeon complete solutions for Hand and Wrist Trauma and Arthritis. Other products include OsteoVationEX™, calcium phosphate bone void filler, and ExtremiFix™, small cannulated screw system. OsteoMed applies over 18 years of medical device development experience to provide advanced systems that improve patient outcomes.
