Wenzel Spine Hires Spine Industry Veteran

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wenzel Spine, Inc., a medical device company focused on offering less invasive, stand-alone alternatives to traditional spinal fusion, announced they have hired Jon Luedke as Executive Vice President. As EVP, Mr. Luedke will lead Wenzel Spine’s US market growth strategy.

“We are pleased to add to our team, someone with a strong track record of bringing new orthopedic and spine technologies to market. Jon Luedke has helped to commercialize many spine products over the last twelve years. His extensive experience and network will allow us to expand surgeon adoption of the stand-alone zero-profile VariLift® Expandable Interbody Fusion System,” said Chad Neely, Chief Executive Officer of Wenzel Spine, Inc.

Mr. Luedke most recently held the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Centinel Spine. Previously he was in executive management positions with Raymedica, Inc., and Zimmer Spine, including Senior Brand Manager of the OrthoBiologics business unit. Luedke also was the founder, and served as Chief Executive Officer, for The Society of Nucleus Arthroplasty, (SONA). SONA is an international society of clinical scientists and spine surgeons interested in promoting the advancement of the art and science of Nucleus Arthroplasty. Mr. Luedke created and served as Editor-in-Chief of the published 5-part series, “Nucleus Arthroplasty Technology in Spinal Care.”

Jon Luedke comments, “I am excited to join the Wenzel Spine team. The stand-alone VariLift Expandable Interbody Fusion System offers surgeons the ability to treat patients without pedicle screws. This zero-profile construct is utilized in a variety of surgical techniques such as PLIF, TLIF or ALIF, expands 6 degrees and may restore up to 12 degrees of lordosis. The excellent clinical results of the VariLift System is something that I strongly believe benefits both patients and surgeons alike.”

Wenzel Spine’s stand-alone zero-profile VariLift Expandable Interbody Fusion System is now commercially available in the United States and Europe.
