Medtronic CEO To Retire; Outside Replacement Sought

Medtronic Inc. (MDT) Chairman and Chief Executive Bill Hawkins plans to retire at the end of the medical-device maker’s current fiscal year, departing after more than three years at the helm and during a tumultuous time for the company and industry at large.

Minneapolis-based Medtronic said Monday it plans to search externally for a successor.
