Ortho Development Corporation Announces FDA 510(k) Clearance of the Escalade™ Acetabular System

Salt Lake City, UT – March 28th, 2011 ‐ Ortho Development® Corporation is pleased to announcethe clearance of the Escalade™ Acetabular System. The system is indicated for use with theOvation® Hip Stem in total hip arthoplasty procedures. The Escalade™ Acetabular system allowsfor the option of larger femoral heads in smaller extensively crosslinked liners.

The Escalade™ Acetabular System was designed with the following objectives in mind:

• Maximize range of motion with a shell and liner design that accommodates the largestpossible femoral head in the smallest possible acetabular shell, while maintainingbearing thickness

• Incorporate advancements in third‐generation crosslinking processes to enhance wearresistance and preserve the integrity of mechanical properties

• Maximize long term durability with a taper and snap locking mechanism that offers easeof insertion and anti‐rotation features

• Enhance instrument offering to accommodate less invasive surgical approaches
