Integra receives clearance for fracture plate system

The FDA has granted 510k clearance to Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation for its Integra Proximal Humeral Fracture Plate System for treatment of proximal humeral fractures.

The Integra Proximal Humeral Fracture Plate System has two plate designs to address varying degrees of complex proximal humeral fractures, including a GT Plate and LP Plate in multiple anatomic left and right plate options, according to a company press release. Both plate designs allow for varying screw diameters and lengths in locking, non-locking and lag screw options.

“Not only does the system expand our shoulder product family, but the plate design also has some unique advantages, including a four screw hole option for calcar screws that allows for solid fixation in the calcar neck and provides humeral head support,” Bill Weber, vice president and general manager of extremity reconstruction at Integra, stated in the release.
