Medtronic (MDT) Launches Minimally Invasive Spinal System

By Zacks Equity Research

Medical technology giant Medtronic plc (MDT – Analyst Report) recently launched its novel CD Horizon Solera Voyager Spinal System, designed to facilitate minimally invasive spine procedures, in the global market. The product release marks yet another significant addition to Medtronic’s innovative Surgical Synergy Spinal Platform, intended to promote spinal healthcare.

Medtronic unveiled the device at the 22nd annual international meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques (IMAST) in Kuala Lumpur.

The Voayager Spinal System can be adopted by physicians while performing transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) – a surgical procedure used to treat patients suffering from any kind of spinal deformity or instability. Interestingly, this spine system can be expanded while performing a TLIF, owing to its minimally invasive insertable rods, which come in varied sizes. This will allow physicians to offer individualized care to a large variety of patients depending on the size of the rods they require.
