Capital Point co LRS completes orthopedics product test

BonFixatore guides nails used in hip surgery.

Capital Point Ltd. (TASE:CPTP) portfolio company LRS Ortho Ltd., which develops guidance systems for orthopedic treatments, has successfully completed a series of preliminary clinical tests on its BonaFixatore device. The product guides nails during hip surgery.

The tests were carried out on 14 patients over six months at a medical center in Israel, and a second medical center in Eastern Europe. The report on the tests concluded that the device is safe to use and there were no mechanical or clinical problems.

The devices was found to be effective, and a gradual improvement was seen in the procedural results carried out on patients. Improvements included taking less time to locate the exact point for putting in the orthopedic nail, and a significant drop in the number of X-rays required. It was found that drilling and screwing using L.R.S.’s was more precise, convenient and easy compared with drilling by hand, and enabled greater stability during procedures.

Capital Point and its subsidiary the Katzrin Incubator on the Golan Heights where L.R.S. is located, hold 49.7% of the company.

Capital Point’s share fell 4% on the TASE during afternoon trading to NIS 5.85.
