Hansjörg Wyss Research Award – Call for Applications

With an intention to support scientists and clinicians in the field of spine research, the AOSpine Research Commission in conjunction with the Hansjörg Wyss Foundation is pleased to announce the Hansjörg Wyss Research Award.

The award is open to researchers proposing to conduct fundamental, translational, or clinical investigation pertaining to the spine.

Two types of grant awards—Focus and Start up are being offered here. The Focus award shall be a maximum of CHF 120,000 per annum for a period of three years. The Start up award shall be a maximum of CHF 30,000 for one year.

Successful Hansjörg Wyss Focus Research Award projects should be staged and benchmarked for annual milestone reviews with continuation of funding depending upon the meeting of the deliverables or specific performance accomplishments in an audit.

The last date for accepting applications is 28 February 2010.

Successful applicants will be expected to attend the award ceremony at the World Forum for Spine Research, 5–8 July 2010, Montreal, Canada.
