Doctors think as many as 75 million Americans, which is a quarter of the population, are living with chronic, debilitating pain, according to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal.
The diagnosis for patients with Lumbar Spinal Stenosis often means never ending back pain, until now.
New pain management technology is giving some Florida seniors their life back. Some patients can be walking pain free in just one day.
The procedure is called Vertos MILD.
By using a small incision point, Vertos MILD thins out ligaments and restores it back to its normal thickness, which takes the pressure off of the spine.
Two weeks into treatment, one patient said this is the best he’s felt since he hurt his back when he was 14 years old.
“I firmly believe in what’s happening, this happened the 10th of February this year and I’ve been more active or whatever then you can imagine,” said patient William Stone.
Doctors at Coastal Orthopedics & Pain Management in Bradenton are some of the first in the country to offer the minimally invasive back pain procedure.
Coastal Pain Management is now doing clinical trials.
