Unite® Biomatrix Procedure Performed at UCSD is Benchmark for Groundbreaking Biologics Company
Pegasus Biologics, Inc., an Irvine based developer of collagen bioscaffolds based on a revolutionary bio-platform technology to complement soft tissue repair and regeneration, announced today that its OrthADAPT® Bioimplant and Unite® Biomatrix technologies have now been used in a combined total of 10,000 procedures.
The benchmark announcement was made this week after a procedure utilizing Pegasus’ Unite Biomatrix was performed by foot and ankle surgeon Gerit D. Mulder DPM, MS, Director of the Wound Treatment and Research Center at University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Daniel K. Lee DPM, FACFAS, Director of Podiatric Foot & Ankle Surgery at UCSD. In the procedure, Drs. Mulder and Lee utilized the Unite Biomatrix to treat a patient’s complex diabetic foot ulcer.
