GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–At the 6th Annual Cleveland Clinic Innovator Awards dinner, AxioMed Spine Corporation (www.axiomed.com) was awarded the Ferchill Partner Award for the company’s medical innovation and economic impact on the community. The Cleveland Clinic and AxioMed Spine Corporation collaborated on the development of the Freedom® Lumbar Disc for the treatment of degenerative disc disease. The Freedom Lumbar Disc has been approved for commercial distribution in the European Union (EU) and is currently in a FDA approved pivotal Investigational Device Exemption study in key centers in the United States and EU.
