US Spine Announces Second Facet Patent Awarded, North American Spine Society Exhibit

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
US Spine has announced that it has been awarded patent number 7,608,094, the
second in a series of patents for facet fixation. This patent provides
protection to the company for its method of facet fixation using the Facet Gun
and Facet Bolt. Additional patents covering other devices and methods are
expected to follow.

US Spine also announced that it will be displaying the new Facet Gun Max, the
latest generation of its patented Facet Fixation System, as well as its new
Javelin MIS Locking Facet Fixation System, at this year`s North American Spine
Society Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California beginning November 10-14,
2009. Both systems will be on display at booth #413 and available for hands-on
demonstrations.

The Facet Gun MAX consists of a reusable hand piece with quick-release,
disposable implant cartridges and enables spine surgeons to lock the facet joint
in two simple steps via an easy to use gun-shaped "all-in-one" delivery system,
while US Spine`s Facet Bolt, the first and only available locking facet implant,
provides the stiffness and strength equivalent to conventional stabilization and
fusion devices, but is simpler, faster and less invasive to use.

US Spine`s Javelin technology is designed to stabilize the lumbar spine by
locking the facet joints through a minimally invasive incision. This enables
surgeons to fixate the facet joints without needing to perform an open procedure
that usually requires larger, more invasive implants, such as pedicle screws and
rods.

Besides its Facet Fixation platform, US Spine will also feature its new Phantom
Plus Interbody Fusion and Preference 2 Complex Spine Systems. Both systems
feature advanced designs and instrumentation honed by experienced surgeons and
engineers to allow for reproducible and efficient surgical cases. For more

information, or to schedule a demonstration during the North American Spine

Society, please contact Kelli Cawley at (561) 367-7463, extension 1004.
