Ortho Kinematics begins $5M funding round
Biotechnology company Ortho Kinematics Inc. has collected $1 million of a planned $5.1 million round of funding.
The company, which moved to Austin from San Francisco last year, collected the capital from two investors, according to a filing today with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Last year, the company completed a $3.5 million round of financing. Investors included PTV Sciences, which operates offices in Austin and Houston, the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, and Dallas-based Gatebridge Investments.
Ortho Kinematics, which was founded in 2006, is commercializing its vertebral motion analyzer technology designed to measure the quantity and quality of intervertebral motion, company officials have said.
