Breg Launches New Version of Orthopedic Patient Workflow Management Software

CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 1, 2016 — Breg, Inc., a premier provider of integrated solutions that help improve the quality and lower the cost of the orthopedic episode, today announced the launch of Vision™ 5.0 – the latest iteration of its Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) workflow management software. Vision automates and optimizes in-house bracing and supplies programs.

Vision 5.0 includes a complete user interface and experience update for both mobile and web – making it easier and more intuitive for orthopedic providers to manage patient workflow. Vision 5.0 mobile also is configured for future expansion beyond iOS to Android and Windows. Similar to the development of Vision Cloud Connect, launched in 2014, which exchanges data between electronic health/medical records (EHRs/EMRs) and practice management systems, Vision 5.0 was developed with direct customer involvement and feedback. The software has demonstrated connectivity for the past two years, and works with nearly all major EMR/EHR interfaces.

“Our practice has been using the beta version of Vision 5.0 over the past few weeks, and sharing our views with Breg on ways to refine it. I can honestly say that this version is everything I could ever want in a DMEPOS workflow management solution,” said Julia Nevil, DME Program Coordinator at Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania. “Vision continues to make my life easier both by the convenience of the handheld device, and by easing the burden of staff needing to remember the requirements of varied healthcare payers. We anticipate that it will help improve our bottom line by reminding staff to obtain the necessary pre-certifications, and remain compliant with commercial insurance companies.”

As orthopedic providers face declining reimbursements and rising overhead costs, many are turning to ancillary services and inventory management to generate income and control costs. Vision is Breg’s tool to make in-office bracing programs work more efficiently. It helps providers reduce product shrink (items that seemingly “walk away”), ensure the right products are kept in stock to meet patients’ needs, decrease staff paperwork burden, matching the paperless world of EHR/EMR, and electronic capture nearly all the required compliance documentation.

“Vision 5.0 is another example of how we are evolving Breg’s solutions, including our products, services, consulting and technology — to help providers stay ahead of changes in healthcare management,” said Brad Lee, president and CEO of Breg. “Our customers have always been at the absolute center of everything we do, and the Vision 5.0 update is no different. We worked diligently to ensure the latest iteration of our software truly reflects everything we heard from customers, to make their day-to-day DMEPOS management remarkably easy – and that much more efficient.”

The Vision 5.0 web-based platform will release on August 1, 2016.  The mobile application will be released soon after, and current customers will work with Breg’s Business Solutions team to transition from Vision 4.3.3 to the newly enhanced application.

Launched more than eight years ago as a web application, Vision services more than 5,600 providers and 1,400 locations at over 400 leading practices, helping them manage patient DMEPOS workflow (data as of August 1, 2016).
