Image-Guided Robotic Technology for Surgery Entering Israeli Market

By Motti Frimer, CEO, M.S.T – August 17, 2016

MST Medical Surgery Technologies is expanding market reach for its AutoLap™ robotic surgery system and has now received approval from the Israeli Ministry of Health’s AMAR for marketing and sales in Israel.

AutoLap™, for minimally invasive surgery (MIS), is the only image-guided robotic laparoscope positioning system. The system interacts with the surgeon’s movements in the surgical cavity, guiding the robotic laparoscope positioner in real time, offering the surgeon full and natural control of the surgical procedure and an optimal field of view.

Following the introduction of AutoLap™ in European, Asian and US markets in 2015 and 2016 (the system is CE-marked and FDA-cleared), MST is now making it available for purchase in Israel. A number of leading surgeons in Israel are already familiar with the system, having participated in clinical trials and affirmed high satisfaction with the usability of AutoLap™ in the OR.

“AutoLap™ was conceived and developed in Israel by an Israeli team, so it’s exciting to reach this stage in our strategic development and to now make our innovative robotic system available to Israeli surgical facilities,” said MST CEO Motti Frimer. “The Israeli med tech industry is one of the most innovative in the world, not only in R&D but also in the adoption of highly innovative technologies. Surgical facilities are seeking robotic systems that are more affordable and that can facilitate a wide range of surgical procedures, so we look forward to seeing AutoLap™ taking its place in local hospitals,” he added.
